ur farm is located in Limington, Maine, in the scenic Sacopee valley, named for the land lying between the Saco and Little Ossipee rivers.
The farm was built in 1798 by one of the original town settlers, Christopher Cole, and we are fortunate have a lovely view, complete with a pond and rolling fields surrounded by the Saddleback Hills.

Sue is the farm’s manager on a daily basis, and also works part time off-farm. She runs a wholesale greenhouse business, delivering products to garden centers in Maine and New Hampshire from May to October. She is the manager of the Icelandic sheep flock, and takes care of the record keeping and finances for the farm. Her background is in horticulture, with 19 years experience in landscaping and greenhouse production. She ran Pondview Farm for 9 years as a retail garden center, then changed over to wholesale to the great benefit of family, sanity, and the bottom line. She is thrilled to be working with the sheep and very focused on careful management practices to attain the goals of strong health and parasite resistance, productivity, and beautiful fleece.
Mark has enjoyed agriculture and animal husbandry for almost his entire life. Although his involvement in the farm is much more part-time than is Sue’s, he manages the daily operations of the Highland Cattle fold, and takes care of getting in the hay crop. Mark’s full time occupation is as a horticultural sales representative. His career in horticulture, which started in 1979, has included landscape design, installation and maintenance, managing retail garden centers, and wholesale horticultural sales. Mark works for McHutchison Horticultural Distributors. He sells annual and perennial liners, nursery stock, seasonal, potted crops, and tropicals and foliage to growers and garden centers in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Additionally, he sells greenhouses, barns and industrial structures by Harnois Industries.
